I learned so much about myself as a writer. Oftentimes, writers can be so hard on themselves. By forcing myself, (initially) to complete a project from start to finish within 8 hours, I was more focused and more determined than ever before. This challenge broke me out of the confines that I'd placed myself in. Writing was fun again. I've always loved to write, but this gave my writing a boost. Now, I'm more productive and more willing to move out of my comfort zone. I think my productivity for this challenge proves that! All in all, I completed a total of 10 new pieces for this challenge. All done in less than eight hours!

I wrote this for the Erotica Challenge on Kindle Boards, but actually it turned into less Erotica and more of a steamy historical romance. So I'm not sure if it really qualifies for the other challenge but I thought it does qualify for this one, so why not! I learned that I'm not great at writing straight erotica, I like the story line too much and the characters as well. But it was great fun writing stuff that is a lot more sexy than I usually go. The book seems to be selling really well though! So I am going to make it into a series and do a few more. So that's a win :-)

Aimee Easterling has been spoiled by four dogs, has spoiled six cats, and has largely been ignored by two guinea pigs, four turtles, a cockatiel, and a slew of fish during her thirty-some year life. Studying biology and working as a naturalist have both informed her writing, but she's quite willing to let reality slide in favor of a good story. I originally wrote this as a standalone prequel short story to give away on my email list when I launched my first novel this spring. However, I've changed over to a new free short story to go with my newest novel, and decided to clean Bloodling Wolf up and put it for sale on Amazon. I guess I've grown a lot as a writer over the last year because it needed a *lot* of cleaning.

Eva writes because she can't imagine doing anything else. She has so many stories in her head that it would take a hundred lifetimes to write them all, but she's determined to get as much down as possible, to try and declutter her mind a little if nothing else. She likes vampires and action and has a soft spot for romance in the middle of an apocalypse.

I learned a lot about my writing style doing this. I worked right up to the eight hour limit; it was getting nail biting there for a moment! But I do love a challenge, and I felt very happy with it by the time I was finally able to press publish.
